He said humans and apes evolved from an extinct ancestor. Humans don't come form aps we were from a different type of animal and it got extinct.

Edgar
Topic : how does your life change when having a baby?
He said 3/10 teen girls get pregnant. He showed us a video where it explains to is that having a child takes up a lot of time and sleep. You can't go out a lot because you have responsibilities. He also told us about his story. He is happy he had his child, he became independent and patient. He's happy that he had a child.

Angel :
Topic : does the internet control us or do we control the internet?
He explain how we don't have much privacy in apps and social media we are active in. There is lots of ways that people can get hold of your information and hackers know how to get a hold of that too. We don't have privacy at all on the internet.

She talked about the two different types of abortions. She agrees with abortion. I strongly DISAGREE.

Journal

I am more than thankful to be given the opportunity to do research on something we all wanted to talk about. The presentations are coming out really great and it is really showing how much effort most us put in it. First teacher who has given us this opportunity. I really hope that the people who have not yet presented do put in lots of effort and rock their topic because chances like this are hardly given to students. It's really intresting knowing different things that people wanted to know about.

Presentations

Axel Villa
Topic : Who killed Biggie and Pac?
It was a good topic because we all know who they are and how big of artists they were. There was facts in there that I'm sure all of us did not know so not only did he explain himself and his question  but also he let us know facts we were curious about. It was an intresting topic and may those two amazing artists Rest In Peace.

Joe
Topic : What is magic?
Very intresting topic. He caught my attention almost right away. I am am mind blown. SPEECHLESS.

Gladis
Topic : college
It's a topic we all need to hear and talk about. Most of the things I heard were things all juniors had to attend a meeting to know these things. It is very important.

Presentations

Angel :
Topic : Migrant workers
Migrant workers actually make up the U.S food system. They don't get recognized for it most of the time. A lot of the time they go through abuse, discrimination and deportation. I agree with him when he says field work is tough. It is. I know from experience. The first couple days you come home with back pains, with sunburns, and head aches. All races work differently and most people in different races work hard, but I can proudly say that Mexicans are very hard workers. I have not seen anyone work as hard as us. We do the job that others do not want to do, not because they can't do it BUT because they do not want to do that hard work. I also agree that we need to be treated equally and get the same respect as others do. Loved his presentation.

Journal

The presentations have all been good. When I presented mine I was surprised that I lasted 10 minutes.  Its actually not that hard to if you're happy to present what you're presenting. I learned lots of things not only from my question but from others dad well. I now know not to sleep on my back, thanks to Yasmin, I know more about everyone having fears and overcoming them on stage thanks to Jorge & the list goes on. I actually am very thankful for this opportunity because we all learn interesting things a lot of things some of us actually wanted to know about.

Presentation

Yasmin Ocampo :
Topic : Sleep Paralysis
The video she showed really did catch all of our attentions and it was a good video that described some of the basics of it. She explained it in more depth and it is weird that you're more likely to get it when you are laying down on your back because every time I sleep on my back I dream something bad and i always dream that there's something standing at my door with the door open just staring at me as I stare back. The example she gave was about a girl named Jamie Jackson that she had that happen to her and no one believed her it's hard for someone to believe you because things like this don't usually happen so when things lie this do happen people do not believe it.

California is such a BAD ASS state!! For the reasons that the weather here is amazing. Lots of big artist live here, oceans surround us. California is just a GO TO. I would never live out of California. There is just so many places to visit that are breathtaking. Lots of people that come to California want to move in and that is a fact, because i know of some people that do not want to leave.

Presentations

Jorge Araiza :
Topic : Acting Presentation
Notes : He really did get our attentions when he made us all stand up and just SHAKE. He was explaining how people need to get out of their comfort zone. Well today was the day where those who are not comfortable with just shaking with others were kinda of forced to. In my opinion, it felt good standing up and just being goofy with the class. It helped his presentation a lot. The monologue he gave was amazing.

Journal

What makes you want to listen to someone and/or trust what s/he says?  What makes you less likely to listen to someone and trust what s/he says?  Describe at least two examples.

What makes me believe someone is dependent on their loyalty to me and to others. If I know that they have not been loyal to others what will make me think that they will be loyal to me. People can say things like "I'll be loyal to you." It gets people thinking like wow, he or she thinks I am different so it'll be different with you, relationship wise or friendship wise. I am not like that. I am not gullible. I can fall for lies, but not for most of them. So what makes me not believe someone? Well obviously their past. People change, yes.  But it is rare.

Journal

I don't think anything is really private. Nothing at school is private. Nothing in the world outside of school is private. How about our home? Uh think again. You're not home I am sure our parents or someone invades our privacy. We really do not have any privacy at all. Yeah it sucks. But what is there to do? People are not mysterious at all because us, ourselves let out our personal things out there. So we have proved to ourselves that we can't even trust our own selves. Fishes are mysterious, actually most animals are mysterious and they have great privacy, but we don't. The government probably knows more about us than we do about ourselves. They probably know what move we're going to do next. Someone is probably observing us and we don't even know it.
