Response on "The Conscience of the Hacker ":
I LOVED IT !! Everything the author said is true. Teachers think most  students are underachievers, cause they don't "try" , cause they don't participate , cause they space out during class etc.. But in reality we only let show what we want to let show. Some of us don't do homework , not because we're lazy, not because it's hard , but because it doesn't catch our attention, yes in life you do things that you may not like , but I can be successful while doing things I can actually enjoy doing , by doing things that catch my attention. No one really truly knows how you think and why do you think the way you do , people will try to tell you to do things , but it's all up to you. Do what makes you happy.
Response to Young Goodman Brown
I thought that was a really bad timing to live in. Being accused of being a witch and being sentenced to a punishment. It reminds me a lot of what most girls do even in recent times. They get mad cause a guy doesn't want them and go spread rumors, just as she said he was a witch.

SOCRATIC SEMINAR #1/ EARTH ON TURTLE'S BACK)

MY BIG QUESTION?

Why do people act the way they do? And why do people feel the need to put down people to make themselves feel better?

ANCIENT STORIES
  • How is the language in this text similar to and/or different from the language you use in everyday conversation?

MY RESPONSE: It's different in the way that we don't say "shall" or words that were used back then in the olden days.
  • Because it began as an oral story, "Earth on Turtle's Back" can be found in multiple text versions.  How important is it for a story to be repeated word for word?  Is meaning embellished, distorted, lost, or enhanced in the retelling?

MY RESPONSE : I don't understand the question.
  • How is the language in this text similar to and/or different from the language you use in everyday conversation?

MY RESPONSE : It's different , because teenagers are so illiterate and use so much slang words so words used in this text are far from different from our vocabulary.

P.S : I tried finding a 1492 myth but gave up when I couldn't relate them to this one.

The Earth on Turtle’s Back response :
This story is a little confusing, but at the same time it caught my attention. It caught my attention once the wife of the chief fell into the hole and the animals ended up helping her. A tiny Muskrat dived down and brought up a turtles shell. According to this story that is why turtles have scratches on their shells, because a tiny Muskrat scratched the old turtle's back
MY NOTES (so far) .. .

The day before I had spent all afternoon and evening practicing the Richard Cory poem. I could have sworn I had it all down to a science. I was wrong, I got so nervous and blanked out on some parts, but I did get it down my last part. :)

P.s : the video was cut because my storage was full 😂😩💔 I guess I should have deleted all those selfies hahahaha. Just kidding.

Hi I'm Regina Saucedo. This is my blog page, I'm so excited to see how this works out for me. I'm new to this "blogging" thing, so please no judging.:) I'm also so excited that my awesome and outgoing teacher is making this a new and fun way to not only learn, but also express and put our opinions out there. This is such a brilliant idea. my blogs might be a little boring at first, but promise you it'll get better as I get the hang of it (or at least I'll try). Well thank you so much Dr. Preston for giving me an excuse to use my phone in class. #awesomesauce 😅😅😅
