- Maybe because it's illegal and people in that society don't read them they burn them.

- Because his wife overdosed on pills. The service they provide isn't so professional and not taken with much care because a lot of people overdose during that period of time.

-Because people don't ask questions and they live in a bad environment.

- They're very different people and especially now that Montag met Clarisse he doesn't have that same connection as before.
